Attracting vs Converting Online

Welcome to the ‘my 2 cents’ blog! My name is Tara Bjorgan and I am a Freelance Copywriter, and self described marketing junkie. I am always surfing the net to find the latest and greatest information on the exciting world of writing copy!

Check out this great article on web content from one of my favorite sites – www.copyblogger.com!http://www.copyblogger.com/traffic-or-conversion/#more-10710
Here’s my 2 cents: We live in an online world where businesses are all in a worldwide marathon to get attention, keep attention, turn attention into interest, and turn interest into $$! The article “Should your content Aim for Traffic or Conversion” discusses the difference between the ever seductive attraction for getting web traffic vs developing a long-term romance through conversion.

Aiming for traffic – offer up ’7 Steps to Increase Your Business’, ’10 Steps to Start a Business’, ’7 Steps to Gain New Clients’…etc. Why do we like teasers so much? Teasers are fast, easy-to-read and to-the-point. You get informative and interesting information at your fingertips – no energy exertion necessary!

But, like anything that comes easy, this interest and attention is fleeting. If you want something more substantial, provide more thought provoking and engaging information that requires your readers to get involved and surrender some of their time to you and your services.
